MacBike processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide these to us yourself. Below you will find an overview of the personal data we process:
Surname and first name
- E-mail address (only necessary for online bookings).
- Information about your activities on our website (see the heading google analytics).
- Information about your internet browser and device type.
Personal data that we temporarily hold, but do not process:
- In case of a rental agreement without a cash deposit: copy credit card.
- Only during the rental agreement we will retain an identity document if you do not have a credit card. We do not process this document. Nor do we make a copy.
Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process
Our website and/or service does not have the intention to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years of age. Unless they have permission from parents or guardian. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is over 16 years old. We therefore recommend that parents are involved in their children’s online activities in order to prevent data from being collected about children without parental consent. If you believe that we have collected personal information about a minor without that consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete that information.
For what purpose and on what basis do we process personal data?
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Entering into a rental agreement.
- Repairing your bike.
- Handling your payment.
- Sending our newsletter (only after permission).
- To be able to call you or e-mail you if this is necessary in order to be able to perform our services.
Storage period personal data
We do not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. We use the following retention periods for the following personal data:

Sharing personal data with third parties
MacBike does not sell your information to third parties and will only provide it if necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. With companies that process your data on our behalf, we enter into a processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. *
Cookies, or similar techniques, that we use
MacBike only uses technical and functional cookies. And analytical cookies that do not violate your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit this website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and your ease of use. They ensure that the website works properly and remember, for example, your preferred settings. This also enables us to optimise our website. You can opt out of cookies by setting your internet browser so that it no longer stores cookies. In addition, you can also delete all information that has previously been stored via the settings of your browser.
MacBike uses Google Analytics. We have concluded a user agreement with Google. In this agreement we have set the data retention period to 26 months. We use the insights we gain from this to optimise our online visibility for our target groups and to monitor the progress of general search terms and web visits.

MacBike does not make decisions on matters that could have (significant) consequences for individuals on the basis of automated processing operations. These are decisions that are made by computer programs or systems, without a person (for example a MacBike employee) in between.

Viewing, modifying or deleting data
You have the right to access your personal data, to correct it or to have it deleted. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by MacBike, and you have the right to data transferability.
This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we have about you in a computer file to you or to another organisation you have mentioned. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or for the withdrawal of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to [email protected].
In order to be sure that the request for inspection has been made by you, we ask you to send us a copy of your identity document with the request.
How we protect personal data
MacBike takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification.
