The popular Plantage district is in the eastern part of Amsterdam’s historic centre, and it is ideal for exploring by bike. This originally Jewish district has grand, peaceful streets, majestic buildings and is remarkably green. You can visit Artis Zoo, Hortus Botanica and the Tropenmuseum (the ethnographic museum).
Provos
In May 2015 it was exactly 50 years ago that the Provo movement was founded. With playful demostrations and happening the Provo tried to shake up society.
